As reported to members on June 26, 2019, the ETFO Employee Life and Health (ELHT) Board of Trustees implemented a number of changes effective during the 2019-2020 Benefits Year. The changes made effective September 1, 2019 and January 1, 2020 were largely administrative and, in most cases, will have a minimal impact on members. However, they are important to help keep the benefits plan sustainable – and, in the case of the specialty drug changes, will improve member service.
In addition, it was also communicated on June 26, 2019 that part-time funding in locals with grandparented arrangements would be eliminated effective September 1, 2020. As of the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, all part-time members wishing to participate in the benefits plan will pay pro-rated premiums. (e.g. 0.5 FTE will pay 50% of the monthly premium; 0. 8 will pay 20% of the monthly premium, etc.). For more information about pro-rated premiums, click here.
